ABOUT THE TROUPE

Born out of the shared passion of four elementary school kids, our musical theater troupe first debuted on a humble stage eight years ago. Brimming with the audacity of a lion and the colorful vigor of a parrot, our spirited ensemble of third, fourth, and fifth graders held their own in a five-minute spectacle of Les Misérables at our school talent show. Our deep-rooted love for musical theater, nurtured by innumerable movie nights and countless car-ride karaoke sessions, had already manifested itself long before this seminal performance.

Since our modest beginnings, we have blossomed both as a group and as confidants, persistently organizing productions year after year, transcending the barriers of varied grade levels and shifting schools. The creative path we tread evolved from the rebellious Paris uprising to a haunting spectacle at the Palais Garnier with a five-minute rendition of The Phantom of the Opera in 2015. Subsequent years witnessed our comeback to Les Misérables in middle school, complete with rented costumes and a dramatically staged sword fight. High school, in 2020, reunited our original quartet for a ten-minute Les Misérables epic in four acts.

Just as we were gaining momentum, the pandemic launched us into the uncertain realms of virtual performing arts. During this period, we temporarily docked our singing routines to produce an imaginative video rendition of the Pirates of the Caribbean theme, arranged for a dynamic play of eight hands on two pianos.

After a prolonged hiatus from school, we returned in grand style, performing our unique interpretation of the Broadway musical Anastasia. This magnificent production was made possible by the outstanding Leland Choir and four talented new members who enriched our musical family. The performance was truly a display worthy of a tsar.

Last year saw us raise the bar even higher. For the fourth time, we took to the stage, embarking on a magical journey to the mythical city of Agrabah in Aladdin: The Broadway Musical in Four Acts. Bolstered by the dedicated efforts of dozens of actors and crew members, the performance was a resounding success.

Our journey thus far has been a testament to our growth, our resilience, and our unwavering love for the theater. Today, our troupe continues to evolve, expanding on an exponential scale, inspired by our humble beginnings, and fueled by our shared dreams of bringing unforgettable stories to life on stage.
